Microsoft had their winners (Windows XP and Windows 7) and losers (Windows Me and some might say Vista and 8) but generally they have been the dominant desktop operating system for decades and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down.

Installation of a SERVER operating system is often a one-time job and getting it right first time every time is the only time to get it right. In addition, Server operating systems are far more technically demanding as you probably have a suite of PC’s, laptops, smart phones and other devices that are waiting to be reliant on this box.
